The quick fly-by (cruise-by?) of our trip.
One of the things we learned during our travels down the river is that the Mississippi is two very different rivers. The Upper Mississippi is totally unlike the Lower Mississippi where I grew up. It has a winding channel through many islands and only rarely shows a consolidated profile.
On this trip we saw little of the Lower Mississippi, but at least we did make it to New Orleans. By bus. From Memphis.
